In 2021, Daniella earned a Gracie Award from The Alliance for Women in Media for a non-commercial local radio news feature: “In Virginia, A Family Tragedy Stirs New Life In A Burial Ground For The Enslaved”.

That same story won Daniella an award for best feature from the Washington, D.C. chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in 2021, which also recognized her for best radio series: "For Black Emergency Doctors in Washington, the Pandemic Is Personal”.

In February 2019 Daniella was selected for a CUNY Resilience Journalism Fellowship, which focused on how New York City could better prepare for super storms. She was an Arthur F.
